28 Sep. On our return from a most interesting holiday in India, Delhi Belly included free, 308 most welcome hearing aids have been delivered from Frankland Prison. Apparently 47 more have gone via a prison officer to Romania, which is splendid. 2 Oct. 209 hearing aids are on their way to Diane Bellomy and those lovely Bolivian people. And Ophelia Thom in the Philippines tells us that she has the latest batch we sent. Good show chaps and do carry on! 8 Oct. Two hearing aids arrive in a round about way from Surrey. They are no less welcome! 10 Oct. The postmen resume deliveries after their rest and lo and behold, eight welcome hearing aids arrive, again from the county of golf courses, Surrey! Plus a parcel of 210 hearing aids from Frankland Prison. The prison team have also sent 394 more to other charities. This is going to be a bumper year egad! 10 Oct. Our good friend Islah is off to the Sudan next month and is to take 200 more hearing aids with her, despatched from us today. 10 Oct. A tot up of the totals and we find that in October we have already exceed our 2006 total by being responsible for 4058 hearing aids being sent overseas. 11 Oct. Two hearing aids collected from a local chap I met at a car rally. They come from everywhere! 12 Oct. In spite of our revolting postmen two more hearing aids arrive from Calne in Wiltshire from a retiring hearing aid dispenser. 16 Oct. We have just sorted another worthy box of hearing equipment from our Chichester Chums, which means of course you, probably. It amounts to a shoebox full of just hearing aids, no packing. There are two invoices from Blackburn or Burnley, one from 1974! Keep it up folks. 19 Oct. Have just heard that the latest batch of hearing aids have arrived in Bolivia; phew! 29 Oct. Three hearing aids arrive from the south London area, from two separate sources. Two are of the latest digital NHS type so we will pop them up to the hospital for recycling. All part of the service!
